Your body, mind & spirit.
Welcome Home! OYA Retreats offer women of the African diaspora and women of colour an opportunity to immerse themselves in self-care and self-practice. We honour the intersections of our identities both on the yoga mat and off. Our team is dedicated to providing a sacred space in which all body types have the freedom to experience a fulfilling practice in movement and in stillness. Sign up to our mailing list here.
This urban retreat includes two sessions. A movement session, Feel Anger & Get Loud, where participants can experience their inner rage and let it all hang out. And a healing session, Sister Circle, where meditation, aroma therapy and other methods will allow participants to release and renew their energy.
In Breathe & Release, participants will first be guided in releasing built up emotions that they may still be holding in their hips. Afterwards in an interactive session, Exploring Shame & Finding Freedom, they can discuss more thoroughly the emotion of shame and its effects in different parts of our lives.
In the presence of sisterhood, you will have the opportunity to move and to be still, to read, write and sing, to talk and to listen. This weekend is perfect for you if you want to develop, deepen and re-connect with practices that will support you in your daily life, your internal as well as external self-care. This is not indulgence; this is self-preservation.
